Welcome

I'm so happy you're here! Horse Reference Photos is a resource created for artists who need high-quality, accurate equine references. I'm Karen Broemmelsick, an artist and photographer with a passion for capturing the movement, anatomy, and expression of horses. This site offers a carefully curated collection of horse reference photos, along with a selection of other animals and nature subjects, designed to help artists create their best work. Whether you're a painter, illustrator, or sculptor, you'll find dynamic poses, detailed studies, and inspiring imagery to enhance your creative process.

So far, only a fraction of my photos are uploaded (adding the necessary info to make them searchable is a time-consuming process), but I'm continually adding more, so be sure to check back regularly!

Supporting my work by purchasing photos allows me to continue traveling, photographing, and expanding this collection with more high-quality reference images for artists!
